HCOGM Inc. has many different opportunities for volunteer workers.
Below is a list of some of the volunteer opportunities available and skills
requested for each. If you have an interest in serving our organization
and would like to offer your special skills or knowledge,
please call our office at (972) 274-1509.

Training and Workshop Leaders
Volunteers are needed to assist in teaching abstinence curriculum to participants. The time requirements are two hours a week along with the preparation time needed for graduation ceremonies. The length of commitment varies, depending on needs.
Leaders must attend a two hour orientation prior to training. Training consists of approximately 4 hours of teaching instruction and administrative training.
Leaders are needed to work with non-English speaking participants.

Interviewers
Volunteers administer interview questions to potential participants who have contacted HCOGM Inc. to receive abstinence instruction. The assessments generally take about 15 minutes. Interviewers must attend a two hour training class.

Grant Writers
Volunteers are needed to assist with grant writing. They research background information and funding sources, edit and proofread proposals and type final submissions. Meeting of the grant writing team occur as needed, with most writing done by individual members working on their own.

Event Planning
Volunteers are needed to assist with HCOGM Inc. special events throughout the year. The Purity with Purpose for Women Graduation Ceremony, Save the Best for First Teen Abstinence Cotillion Ceremony, Annual Volunteer Recognition Ceremony, Parent and Teen Community Service Event, and the Purity with Purpose Quarterly Alumni Meetings. Individuals capable of directing specific events, or working on event committees, are essential to the success of these affairs. Volunteers for more specific functions are needed, also.

Speakers Bureau
Volunteers are needed to make presentations about HCOGM, Inc. program to local faith-based organizations, schools as allowed, service groups and non-profit and for profit organizations when requests for speakers arise. Presentations are generally twenty minutes in length, with a questions and answer session following, In addition, volunteers staff the HCOGM, Inc. information booth to distribute literature and recruit participants and other volunteers.

Administrative Workers
HCOGM Inc. is a faith-based nonprofit organization that operates on grants and donations. Several administrative duties can be performed at the volunteer’s leisure. Volunteers are needed to make phone calls and perform general clerical functions. Persons able to assist with data entry and light typing, and accounting are needed.
